Old Navy

Only in New York City.  This photo was taken with my father next to Madison Square Park (directly north of the Flatiron Building).  Old Navy was doing a Christmas advertising gig where they had a mini-set, lots of outrageously ugly "costumes", and you could go get your photo taken.  So of course we did it!

Crawling

My first sustained crawl tonight, on my first Thanksgiving. I am still mostly pulling myself along, but it is a milestone nonetheless!

Coordination

I was able to take my pacifier out of my mouth and put it back in correctly today!

Teeth!

My first tooth is peeking through my gums! Progress!

Sitting up!

My core/back muscles can now hold me up for a while. I really enjoy being upright; next step, standing!

High chair!

I've graduated from my Bumbo to a real high chair. And it's a funky-looking one too!

Crawling

My conquest of the world (or at least my home) is starting an inch at a time.  I can now pull myself forward about that far on the ground!  And I can roll much farther (and faster) than that.  It is only a matter of time before I rule my home!

Flexibility

Hudson River

 Here I am enjoying the view of New Jersey from near Chelsea Piers.  We had a lovely day walking around Chelsea and seeing some art galleries.

Six months!

 I am about 6 months old now!  Life passes quickly...I miss the good old days when I was just 5 months old.

Planting Fields Arboretum

My parents took me to a nice warm greenhouse at Planting Fields Arboretum. It was a cold and blustery day, and it was nice to be indoors with all of the pretty plants.

Halloween

Since I couldn't actually go trick-or-treating, my parents dressed me up as a duck again the night before. Quack quack!

Aunt Pauline

My aunt Pauline came to visit NYC, and I got to meet her for the first time.  Yay!

Central Park

Do you recognize this location in Central Park?  And why is Daddy squinting so hard?  Why doesn't he just sleep like I'm doing?

Beijing subway

Look, my first trip in any subway, in Beijing!  The passengers were all very solicitous, but getting on and off the train was quite difficult: none of the entering passengers wait for the exiting passengers to leave!

First flight

I took my first airplane flight today, to Beijing from Newark!  It was all very exciting, even though I tried hard not to show it.

Back and forth

Wow, I can now turn from front side to my back side!  What should I be working on next?

The Met

We went to visit this place called "The Met". There were all sorts of funny people with white bodies and no arms!

Cereal redux

My daddy didn't have the energy to take a picture, but I had my first messy encounter with eating cereal tonight!

Monet

My first trip to MOMA! I got to see the exhibit on Matisse, plus we went and saw this lovely painting of lilies by Monet.

US Open, Madison Square Park

I got to see the US Open on the big screen that Amex set up in Madison Square Park. Federer lost to Djokovic in a great match!

Roll over, Beethoven!

I managed to roll over from back to front for the first time tonight!  Front to back is still a work in progress, though...

Labor Day weekend

Hey, I'm starting to really grow up now! I can hold onto my toys for short amounts of time.

Weekend is over...

Too bad I have to go back to work tomorrow! Oh wait, that's my parents; I still get to enjoy myself!
